Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka is an American-British sitarist and musician. She was also the first and youngest woman to be awarded an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a rising singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is a student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982. In the first few years of her life she was split between London New Delhi. The first time she performed was at New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. At the age of 13, she finished her high school studies within Encinitas CA. Her career as a performer and recorder is impressive, despite her age. She has been performing with her father on stage for many years. In 1998, she released Anourag as her debut single album. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. Apart from performing in all of the largest venues, she also has a long stage career. Anoushka's career goes beyond the realm of music. Bapi The Love of My Life is an illustrated biographie she wrote in 2002. The book pays tribute to her late father Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as an Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shakar's career as a professional will only continue to grow and develop. We are looking at seeing lots of interesting things coming from her. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of traveling between London and Delhi throughout her childhood. Then, she relocated to California to attend high school. Anoushka Shankar started her musical studies when she was nine. After four years she performed her sitar debut in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday party. Anoushka was a part of her father throughout his global tour, gained an impressive quantity of knowledge. In her teenage years she performed at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. As a tribute to her status as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
